Frost, Santana, and Pancakes

#3

"Nothing can make injustice just but mercy."
- Robert Frost

My fiancée is incredible. One of the things that makes her so wonderful is her willingness to forgive. I, my friends, am a very less than perfect person. I (like most men) am really a over grown kid. I still try to jump and touch things above me. I have an irresistible urge to touch everything. (Do you feel my pain?) I am much like the little kid who wants to make breakfast in bed for mom on her birthday but the pancakes are terrible and leaves a huge mess for mom to clean up that morning. (Actually I'm a pretty good cook but I'm going for principle here. Staying with me?) I usually mean well but things never come out right. Ya know? Kind of like that Santana song...

"Every time I try to talk to you I get tongue-tied. Turns out, everything I say to you comes out wrong and never comes out right."

I say and do a lot of less than smart things and yet my fiancée still loves me. She forgives me each time and by doing so she allows our relationship to continue to grow. It's wonderful. I love that we don't have to get stuck on things for days or weeks and that instead we continue to grow and support each other. It's awesome.

To Her,
With all my injustice toward you, and with all my faults and flaws thank you for every act of mercy and every hand of forgiveness. I'm a better person because of it and I'm so grateful for it. It is one of the things that makes me love you.
