Shreds of Flattery

#5

Ever heard of Charles Caleb Colton? I know that when I first read the quote I'm about to share I hadn't ever heard of him. But if you haven't had the pleasure of reading some of his quotes you ought to they are very reflective and give simple explanations to complicated subjects. Anyway... Charles, right. About him.

Charles Caleb Colton was an English cleric (if you are anything like me you might be wondering exactly what distinguishes a cleric from other clergy. I'm still not so sure.) but he was also a writer. Mostly read now in quote books Colton was actually a very popular author for his time. Yet like many great artists Colton eventually killed himself; (Rather than have surgery) but luckily we still have much of his words. So why are we talking about this man that was 1 part brilliant and 2 parts mad? Because, I find this quote by him particular very inspiring.

"Much may be done in those little shreds and patches of time which every day produces, and which most men throw away." - Charles Caleb Colton

Now I have never been one for great time management. I wouldn't say efficiency is a strong point of mine but I have a wonderful role model for both these in my fiancée. Which leads me to another Charles Caleb Colton quote (and perhaps his most famous)

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" - Charles Caleb Colton

And I am really trying hard to be just like her in time management. She's so good with time I'm pretty sure she could cook 5 min rice in 3. No but really, she doesn't allow time to go to waste. It's an amazing quality he possesses and I love it.

I'm not sure if it comes naturally to her or if it is a result of her hard work and dedication but she has mastered time management and continues to improve upon it. While I may never reach her heights. I am inspired.

To Her,
You are an inspiration to me, and thank you for helping me get more out of each day. I love it when you help me manage my time because it allows me to spend more free time doing the things I love to do.
